MLS LES CC Meet 2010
Athletic Directors and coaches,
Michigan Lutheran Seminary will host its grade school Cross Country meet on Wednes-
day, September 22, 2010.
The meet is designed to introduce students to Cross Country and to promote running as part of
a healthy lifestyle, as well as good fellowship between other LES schools and MLS.
The meet will start at 4:30pm with a 3rd and 4th grade race of ½ mile, followed by a 5th
and 6th grade race 1 mile in length, the 7th and 8th grade race will be 1 ½ miles. If there is
interest we will have an open race for coaches and spectators.
The race will again be held at Wickes Park West, just north of Saginaw. The park has two en-
trances, one off Hospital Rd and one off McCarty. Use the McCarty entrance and park by the
playground equipment.
The course is a grass and packed gravel surface with a few rolling hills mixed in for fun. Most
of the course is smooth, but it is a cross country course and there are a few rough spots. We
will record the times and have ribbons with each runner’s time and the race distance soon after
the meet. MLS Cross Country athletes will be on site to help and encourage the runners around
the course.
This is the ninth cross country meet that MLS has hosted. Maps to the park and of the course
will be available on the MLS website.
Pleas email me as soon as you know if you will participate or not .
If you would email your entries a week or two in advance, we will put their names on tags
ready for the race. We will be happy to add runners the day of the race also. Email your entries
to: kfk@mlsem.org .
List: student’s name, boy or girl, and grade.
You can also fax or “regular” mail them to MLS and please put attn. K Kock – cc meet.
