Pastor Petermann Accepts Call
Pastor Joel Petermann announced to his congregation and informed our MLS Governing Board that he is accepting the call to be president of Michigan Lutheran Seminary. He becomes the seventh president of MLS since it became a preparatory school of the WELS in 1910.
President Petermann writes in his letter, “My love for the members of my congregation I serve and for the district which I have been privileged to serve as president has not made this an easy decision. But I have come to the conviction that this is the direction my life is to take at this point in my service to Jesus.”
Because of his responsibilities as district president for the North Atlantic District of our synod, President Petermann’s move to Saginaw will not happen immediately. We will announce the plans for the Petermanns’ move as they become firm.
This news comes on the heels of the governing board's action in making Prof. Norval Kock the new vice president of MLS. Dr. Zeiger will move out of the administrative work of MLS and back to full-time classroom duties at the end of the current semester.
